Tuesday Art ATTACK- Richard Estes "Nedick's"
American Photorealism artist Richard Estes was born in Kewanee, Illinois on May 14, 1932. Estes moved to Chicago when he was a child. He received his arts education at the Art Institute of Chicago. After graduating from school Estes worked as a commercial illustrator for advertising agencies in New York. In 1966 he quit his job in the advertising business to focus full time on fine art. Estes is considered one of the first Photorealism artists. The most well-known work from his career focused on city-scapes and reflections of light on glass. This work in oil was crated in 1970. Estes is still painting and creating great works.
