William Dolwick was born in Lakewood, Ohio in 1909. Dolwick received his arts education from the Cleveland School of Art and traveling Europe on a arts scholarship. When he graduated from school he worked with the Public Works of Art Project during the Great Depression. He created many great murals in Indiana. Dolwick later became a commercial illustrator. He worked for clients like Ethyl Gas and Coca-Cola who commissioned this lively gouache work. Dolwick passed away in 1993.
