Tuesday Art ATTACK- George Hughes “Gas Money”

American Illustration artist George Hughes was born in 1907 in New York. Hughes was famous for the many covers he did for the Saturday Evening Post during the 1940s-1960s. He received his art education at the Art Students League and the National Academy of Design in New York. Hughes work was well-known for its humor and wit. The painting shown above is titled "Gas Money" and was the cover of the March 26, 1960 issue of the Saturday Evening Post. Hughes passed away in 1990.
