Tuesday Art ATTACK- Louise Nimmo “Desert Scene with Saguaro"

Louise Nimmo is a California Landscape artist that specialized in desert scenes and cacti. Nimmo was born in 1899 in Des Moines, Iowa. She received her art education at Otis Art Institutes of Los Angeles, Chouinard Art Institute, and later the Academie Julian of Paris. When she returned to Los Angeles she began to gain notoriety for her work. Nimmo was originally a sculptor but switched to landscape painting. This painting was done in oil and is titled “Desert Scene with Saguaro". Ms. Nimmo passed away in 1959.
