Tuesday Art ATTACK- Walter Stuempfig “Queen of the Seas Casino”

Walter Stuempfig was a outspoken Romantic Realist who was very active during the last century. Stuempfig studied art at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Art. He would later become a teacher there where he taught from 1948 until his death in 1970. The painting shown here is of dilapidated ocean side casino with crowds of beach-goers in front. Stuempfig once said this on how he chooses a subject to paint "I have to be in love with a subject to paint it".
